2. Freshen the Charge When You Aren't Using Your Battery Frequently
It's fine to store your battery for a few months when you aren't using it, but doing so can cause the gravity within the battery to sink below the desired level. 3. Keep an Eye on the Electrolyte Levels

It's important to keep an eye on these levels and to carefully add a little bit of water when necessary. When doing so, you should make sure that the cells are completely charged prior to adding water.
